The Village Festival

The procession is led by the village fire engine and crew, it starts at Greenfields Junior School at around midday. The procession of cars, floats, adults and children (many in fancy dress) then travels across the top of the common, around the Cricket Green, until it arrives in the Festival Ring.

Ice cream, tea and scones, or a glass of beer are available on the green you can then visit one of the many display stands (including the Radio Hartley Wintney stand), watch the children in various races or have a go at the tug-of-war. With lots of entertainment provided it's a really fabulous family day.

Last year the Radio Team who in 2009 won best entrant in the procession in Jo Clinch's wonderful black VW Beetle

This year's 2010 Festival was held on Saturday 12th June. (See www.hartleywintney.org.uk for more information or contact the event organisers Hart Rotary).  There was good support for RHW and plenty of dedications for songs.  The weather stayed sunny and dry and all had a great time.
