HISTORY
|
Radio Hartley Wintney was established in 2003 and was the "brainchild" of our previous curate The Reverend Authur Botham (pictured) to coincide with "Walk Wessex" a church led initiatve to spread the Christian message to villages, towns and cities in the Hampshire area.
The first broadcast of three days was entirely Christian based music. When the station was reformed in 2004 the music covered all tastes to appeal to a larger audience. Since it's inception the Radio has been on air each year totalling in excess of 800 hours of programming.
Even though Arthur "The voice" Botham stepped-down as a Presenter due to his increasing committments as the Vicar at St Gabriel's, Popley, Basingstoke, the station continues to go from strength to strength under the leadership of Station Manager Richard Greenwood.
