Background

Radio Hartley Wintney was formed in 2003 to coincide with Walk Wessex a church based initiative to spread the Christian message to villages, towns and cities in the Hampshire area. The first broadcast of 3 days was entirely Christian based music, when it was reformed in 2004 it was decided that the music would cover all tastes from Classical to Rock to appeal to a larger audience. Since its' inception the Radio has been on-air on seven occasions, totalling in excess of 600 hours programming. The latest broadcast went out in June 2008.

Future Plans

For earlier broadcasts the station has had to "beg and borrow" the equipment to go-to air. In June 2005 the Church PCC agreed to purchase the necessary equipment. The Studio was set-up in October 2005 and whilst not ideal in terms of space and layout, it  is adequate for our present needs. It is hoped that the radio will have a permanent home in the new Church Hall when it is built.
